Growing plants

The baby chicks are really growing

Seems that everything is starting to grow now.  Flowers in bloom and trees budding out and blooms on the fruit trees,  keeping me busy as well as the garden with new tomatoes starting from seed and other vegetables.  The potatoes are already taking off and the peas and beans are growing like wildfire.  I should have lots of produce to freeze and can this year.

I have been quilting again as well as working on lots of other art work.  I am still doing my art journal and have now started bible journaling.   I am enjoying my chance to go back and read the bible and write down how I feel about different verses.  My art journal is all over the place with writing, water colors, and paper empheria.   I enjoy it and it is allowing me the chance to do some art.
One of the beautiful amaryllis that grow in front of the studio.
The outside of the house is done, and they are getting ready to start the inside.  Hopefully in the next month we will be moving in.  and I am finally getting excited.    I am starting to design the front entrance with the plants and grass and how the drive way will work, So hopefully you will get to see that soon.

Well,  that's all the news from the south,
Happy" farming" to all the farm girl sisters out there.

Morning on the farm

                                                          Early morning on the farm.

Got up early and went out to one of the blinds to see what might walk thru.   I saw several turkeys and 3 deer ( one was a small fawn)  and enjoyed the quiet of the morning.  It was cold ( 38) degrees but I enjoyed the time spent in the blind.

I have been trying to get some things done at home,  like packing and organizing things so that the move,  whenever it happens might be a little smoother.   I have also been working  on some of my other projects like jewelry and decorated eggs.  I have a bout a month  until the first show for this year. and I need to get ready.

I was out on a drive today,  going down past Ocala to see a friend and found that the wild phlox which native Floridians call Pinks has started to bloom.   Of course I had to take some photos

Still Under construction

The most updated photo of the house.

It is beginning to look like the house in my vision,  but we still have a way to go.  the roof is not finished yet and there is still some more railing to go up.  and Of course the inside still needs to be finished.  We have to get the roof finished before we get the next inspection and then we can start on the inside.

The new chicks are growing like crazy.  they have started getting feathers and little attitudes. But they are really cute and quite funny.  They hear me talking and run to all corners of the cage.
I am really looking forward to the fresh eggs that we are going to be getting.

Worked in the garden this week as well.  Finished planting all the vegetables that were direct sow into the garden. and then planted all the others,  such as peppers and tomatoes in flats in the greenhouse.  and  now of course it is going to freeze.   The orange tree is blooming as well as both the lemons, and the fig trees are covered in new leaves.   I am going to try to protect as much as I can but I wont be able to save everything.   GRRRRR.

I have also been working on quilting some tops in hopes to get caught up with everything.  I hope to have two tops done tomorrow  I was asked by someone to remake a quilt that had belonged to her mother in law.  the Other sister in law had worked on it and well things were not great.   This is what is left of the quilt.
Seems like the sister in law decided to deconstruct the quilt and used scissors to just cut the squares off the top of the quilt.    Oh what fun.  but it is beginning to come together.

all things considered

not something you would see in Fla.

Found this guy sunbathing on a rock in Tulum Mexico,  while on a cruise.   Had the best time on the cruise and so enjoyed myself,  Laughing myself silly with all my friends.   great relaxing time.  Of course the bead classes were fun too,  and I am still trying to finish up some things.

The house is moving along,  hope to get some photos tomorrow and find out what the problem is with the inspector who apparently wants to be a bit of an donkeys behind.   other then that  I should have the deck down and most of the outside painted.   I now need to get busy and pack up the house.  Haha,  I no more want to do that then the trip to the moon,  but I know I have to do it.

Managed to get a bit of a sinus infection on the trip so I am battling that right now.   I have also gotten 8 new baby chicks and have to get some good photos of them as well so that you get to see them.
