Rain , rain and more rain

                          A critter from the garden.

I have been busy putting up peppers and making more tomatillo sauce.  Want to do some chicken enchiladas  this weekend and plan on using some of the sauce.   The tomatoes are not being very cooperative, and I am not quite sure why.   I planted a few more that are supposed to do well in the heat,  but they don't look too good.

I worked on a quilt this week and got it done.  I think that some people would get a great kick out  of it.  I know that I do .
It is a bit hard to see but they are all old fashioned camping trailers.   It was certainly lots of fun to put together.  I have not done a lot of applique and this was all applique.  I figured that I now know how to do that.  I have a few other quilts that I need to do with applique,  one that I have been holding on to for many years.  Guess I have no excuse not to get it done.

My Easter lilies are blooming now.  I think that they are a bit confused.  but it is quite a sight to be walking back in the woods and all of a sudden you see thousands of Easter lilies.   Mom had some in a garden many years ago, and these are all the offspring so to speak,  because  she forgot to gather the seeds.  So they blew every where and now just come up where ever they want.

Well,  that's all the news from the south,
Happy" farming" to all the farm girl sisters out there.

Peppers, Peppers everywhere

The peppers are growing like crazy and I am going to have to put some up tomorrow before I lose them.  I have this variety which I don't know what it is and I have some Padron peppers also that are growing quite well.  I want to use them in canning,  but I have so many coming off the vine right now.

I have been quilting and getting caught up on lots of small projects in the studio as well.  I had a beautiful Santa that the raccoons had tore up and I have been working of getting him back together.  I think he is finally finished and here is what he looks like.
He looks a bit washed out but  I think he looks good.  Now I need to work on the old fashioned doll and hopefully get her done this week.

Lacy and the rest of the flock enjoyed some good scratch today.  I managed to get a good photo of Lacy and the rest, but one single one of Lacy I liked the best.
Here is a great photo of one of my sunflowers that has gone to seed.

Having been away

at the egg show and then having to go to Indiana to get the house up there in order,  which is really a laugh  I am back and working on getting things caught up at the farm.  I have spent three days just getting the weeding done in the garden,  but on a bright note for that ,  there were enough tomatoes for me to can three quarts of Tomato Sauce and three pints of tomatillos  for Salsa verde. The Padron peppers are growing like crazy and so are the others,  but for the life of me I can not recall their name.  But they are spicy.

The reason that I find the house in Indiana to be funny,  is that I walked in on new residents . Raccoons.  They had taken over as evident in the above photo of the basement.  They had totally trashed the house ( basement and first floor) and I was not amused.  I am still trying to get the house back in order and get the rest of the stuff home.  so probably going back next month to move the second floor home.  Hopefully by then the new house out at the farm will be started and I finally can get my life in order.
Beautiful blooming lily outside the studio door.  Saw a 6 foot corn snake yesterday right outside the door,  I said Hello  and just closed the door again.   Trying to work on some quilts, but my sewing machine has taken leave of its senses and I have sent it to the shop.  I will still get some work done.  Too many beautiful pieces of fabric have come my way.
