time well spent

The little chicks are growing quickly

And will soon be let loose with the big girls.  I am really looking forward to all the eggs that we will be getting.  It will be nice to have these girls scratching around the garden and yard looking for bugs.  They are so comical at times.

The house is moving along.  The tile is now going down and hopefully will be done in the next week .  the ceilings have been painted and the walls are being painted.  the Air conditioning should be in at the end of the week.
                                                      A view of the Kitchen

I have replanted some of the seeds that did not grow yet and been watering the garden.   The squash is growing by leaps and bounds as well as the snap peas and snow peas.  We also have some cowpeas this year.    The tomatoes are ready to transplant along with the tomitillos and peppers.  That will keep me busy for most of the summer.

Well,  that's all the news from the south,
Happy" farming" to all the farm girl sisters out there.
See you next week. down on the farm.

Chickens and gardening

                                                 Tomatoe starts in the greenhouse

Goodness,  we have the best rain ever this week  It was over 5 inches at the farm and everything including the chickens enjoyed it.  The crops really started growing and the garden really looks good except that now I need to go weed it.   I have several things that have not sprouted yet and I am going to give them about another week before I get more seeds and replant.  We did have a cold nigh right after I planted, but I did not think that would hurt the seeds.

The quilt machine is back up and running and I am getting caught up on several outstanding projects.  I am happy that I am getting caught up, but still have a long list of quilts that I want to do.
an out of control squash already,

Monday the new chicks are going outside for the first time the weather is nice enough for them to be there. and we have fenced off an area in the big coop  for them to get used to and the older girls to get used to them.  They have certainly grown in the past week and there is not a lot of room in the pen.
                                                                   One of the happy chickens
